  • No argument from me.... I will say in addition to the 3/4 ton trucks there are LOTS of 1/2 ton trucks that make it to 200K and beyond.

My son is driving a 2000 Silverado (1/2 ton) that is at 302,000 miles. He's done all the scheduled maintenance, replaced 1 muffler, and rebuilt the front end. He says he's going to drive it until it dies, and then drop a new motor and/or tranny in it.

Not a single Honda or Subaru?

    Yeah, right.

Those are in the car list, below the truck list.
  • Nah, don't believe it. Although I would be interested in how they collected their "information". And since the site mentioned is a car sellers site, and I'm sure they want their company "out there", they may have manufactured a bit of the data.
  • I traded my 97 Suburban at 200,000. It was just getting broken in. :)
No major repairs and very few minor repairs. I changed oil every 5-6000 miles, sometimes 7000.
  • To me there is a BIG difference between making it to 200K and making it to 200K with very few repairs.

Case in point. I use to own a Mazda. When I sold the thing it had over 250K on it and I put about 50 bucks in repairs in it over the years (An exaggeration for sure but not by much).
I now have an Acura with almost 200K on the clock. Worst car I have ever owned. Something is always going out in it or doesn't work. A lot of design flaws in this car. :M

If someone throws enough money at something you can keep it going for ever.

I want to know the repair bills on these trucks. That is what separates the men from the boys! :B
  • My old F-150 with the 351 had 225,000 when I got rid of it and still running strong as ever.
  • Ram Mafia will be chiming in soon...:B

Anyways there's no surprises to this report except for the Dodge Caravan... Really!

Interesting. I'm sure we'll hear from the Ram guys soon that the info is bogus and has no merit.:D

When you sell twice as many I would think your odds are better :W
