With all the discussions of SRW vs DRW, wether or not it is ok to be over the GVWR or the GAWR, I though it might be fun to note that truckers have some of the same issues. :) Overweight semi truck

I thought you could only get an overweight permit for a load which could not be separated? Seems your load could have been 6 individual truckloads.
