We have a TC that fits our needs very well. It allows us to tow a boat or travel to places without much concern about getting in and out of tight spaces. If we choose not to offload for a longer stay when traveling we have our own kitchen and bathroom with us wherever we go. For two people and our Labrador retriever we have adequate room however we do spent most of our time outside when camping. The stairs and climbing into the bed are not a big deal for us. As others have mentioned storage space can be limited but you have to make choices on what you need to take with you. Prior to getting the TC we traveled a lot in the in laws TT and though it had more space we would not chose one for our purposed.
You do need to make a decision on what will suit your needs. The best advice is to decide on the camper before the truck. A larger TC will force you into a larger truck. For us a dually was mot an option. We sized our camper for 2500HD and have been perfectly happy. We do not need a diesel and have had no trouble on mountain passes over 13000 feet. In spite of all the advice you get here you are the only one who can determine what you need and will be happy with, Good luck and I hope you enjoy a TC if that is your decision.
