This is going to hurt!

Don't kill the messenger guys!

From the article "The Blue Oval fell to 31st place, second to the bottom. Only troubled Fiat Chrysler's Dodge brand did worse. What was that about?" Ram was in ninth at 129 Ford was 204! Now that's going to leave a mark! Fiat even beat Ford! :E

  • I have to question that list! because every dealer has cars in the shop everyday! And I know for a fact that Chrysler Ram Fiat (whatever they are being called) doesn`t have cars stacked up waiting to be worked on! I wonder why JD Powers put it at the bottom, maybe Ford and Fiat didn`t pay as much for advertising that year!

I only see 3 in that list that can pull anything and they are in this order.
    Chevy
    Ford
    Dodge

Is anyone towing with a Porsche or Buick or BMW? If you like, you can throw the T ota in the mix but it's just light duty, no dually. As far as Dodge being at the bottom, I have never seen problems with their real diesel engine that I've seen from Ford and GM. Hey guys, let's turn this v8 gasser into a diesel!!!!

Ram was judged separate from Dodge and is between Acura and Lincoln on the list. The correct order is:

    GMC
    Chevrolet
    Ram
    Ford

Also, even though it had the same displacement, the 350 Olds Diesel was not based on any gas engine.

  • usually I find consumer's reports reviews to be off the wall. surprised they are a voice of common sense? here? I still don't forgive them for their review of my 1966 ford.

  • I bought a truck.. not an entertainment system or a babysitter :)

I have a flip phone, a full size digital camera, and in-dash am/fm/cd player.
  • Consumer Reports April 2016 Auto Edition tanks Ford number 16 followed by Chevy at number 20, GMC at 23 and Dodge at 25. This is based on 30 brands. So I guess it just depends on what report your reading.

In heavy duty trucks Chevy/GMC outranked both Ford and Ram with Ram bringing up the rear and not recommended to buy.

I do not have Sync in my TV but have it in two other vehicles. It's horrible.
    She just doesn't 'get me'.

:) Hi, they have been complaining about Fords radio system for years, and rightfully so. But you rate the entire vehicle because of the radio??????? I use a USB for my music and Blue Tooth for my cell phone and that's it. I don't use the Sync/ voice activation at all. I'm happy with my truck and that's all that matters to me.
  • Most of that is due to Sync.

"Power notes that many problems in the study were design or infotainment/technology related, while engine and transmission problems -- much more serious, in my opinion -- declined from the prior-year study."

We knew that. Sync sucks. I hate it. I have to almost yell at her to get her to read messages. She is constantly calling the wrong person. Sync's like a bad ex. I thought all voice systems were like that until I got my Volt. Chevy's system kicks Sync's butt 9 ways to Sunday.

I don't know what they mean with "design" issues, but the car division drags down the truck division. I'd take those ratings with a grain of salt if you're truck shopping. Ram separated from Dodge and maybe now we see why. I'd like to see what the Ford truck division ranks by itself.

That said, my next truck is still likely going to be a Ram.
