When you switch from Diesel to gas vechicle do you find yourself waiting for the glow plugs to warm up?
Looks like people didn't read your question. You're getting a bunch of answers about how quickly their oil burners start. :B
To answer, yes nearly every time I drive my wife's Camry, I find myself waiting for the grid heater light to go off! :S:S:S:o
To answer the question, After a few starts forgetting to wait for the heater grid "wait to start" light to go out, I started firing the Cummins up as soon as I heard the lift pump stop on the 24 v and no wait on the mechanical 12v. Never had any trouble. However, to this day I still give it a couple of seconds for the lift pump to shut off even with the gassers. The other habit that creeps up every now and again is a left foot reach for the clutch that's not there.
I tried to talk my bride into a Camry. Most comfortable car I've driven was a rental Camry LE in Seattle. - thomasmnileExplorer

They are just something else to go bad, burn up and have the tip fall into the cylinder and get stuck on the valve seat.
As you know real diesel trucks don't have glow plugs!
So how does it feel to be a smart axe?:h

Ah! Much like a spark plug but for that other fuel. I've never held one in my mortal hands. However I did see one in a model flying contraption once!:B - larry_barnhartExplorer

Great news for me. Gas is cheaper than diesel and I need to fill up for the alpenlite outing next week. 20 cents a gallon here.
