Tire pressure / dually / TC

RAM 3500 dually that will soon have a TC on it.

It's a question of what should the rear tire pressure be and I'm wondering what you run your dually at. The camper should be around 4-5k pounds. I'm planning to install Crossfire Equalization and need a number...psi.

RAM said 65 psi
Tire manufacture,Nexen Roadian,said 80 psi

Both said 80 psi for the front.

Who's correct?

  • Truck tire manufacturers do have inflation chart for each tire model they make.
If you can't find such- the rule of thumb is to compare the actual load to max tire rating and inflate the same % of max pressure rating.
Meaning if your tire is 3000 lb rated at 100psi and actual load is 2000, the pressure comes to 2000/3000=67% multiply 100 psi to come to 67psi.
I usually like to add 3-5 psi for better cornering and compensating for uneven side weight.
Don't you have TPMS on your truck?
