Thanks everyone for the input.
With regard to the TPMS, my service guy is looking into it. He felt that it would be looking for a minimum pressure and if you exceed that pressure you should be okay. He's going to see if the computer inputs for the TPMS can be adjusted or how they would respond. He also said some 18" spares in the ford line can have a 17" wheel with a taller tire under the bed.
Ford's TPMS does not care what the pressure is ABOVE the low preset is.
Ford's TPMS IS NOT USER ADJUSTABLE, PERIOD.
Only a FORD dealer has the tools that can access this adjustment, HOWEVER due to liability issues and messing with Gov requirements of TPMS pretty much all Ford dealers will not touch that preset pressure alarm level.
In all honesty, if you are having squirming issues some it can come from NEW tires, you may need to put 500 or even 1000 miles on before the squirmy felling goes away when towing.
Some of it can come from your tire choice, big large open lugs on AT tires can make for a rather squirmy feel, less aggressive tires will have more support and may feel a bit less squirmy.
Some can come from the manufacturer and the compounds they use.
Some can come from over airing (learned that one the hard way years ago with winter tires, thought the dealer sold me junk tires and they said to let a few pounds out to see how it drives, fixed the problem).
You may need to play around with the tire pressure, I often find keeping the rears 2 lbs lower than the front when empty and rear 2 lbs higher than front when loaded gives a good feeling ride.
The TPMS system does mess with me a bit so I have to run above the alarm pressure.
If all else fails perhaps inspect your front end for loose or worn ball joints, bushings, wheel bearings and such.
