- Johno02ExplorerWhen we bought insurance for our small motorhome, I made sure that there was a clause added to cover the awnings. They added it at no additional cost. I have had to replace it twice, once wind, once my fault. Insurance covered it both times.
- dadmomhExplorerDefinitely AWN! There are weekends when we don't use our electric awning....if it should be windy especially. Our HTT had the manual and our TT the electric....LOVE the electric. Hit the button and in seconds you're closed up. We enjoy sitting outside reading, talking, snacking and have to have some shade. We did have a screen room that I think we took once or twice and never used it...PITA to put up! Totally aside from your usage, if you decided to sell or trade in, I think no awning would be a big negative factor.
Is it primarily the fabric or the mechanism that's worn out? Fabric can be replaced, but care is needed working on the awning mechanism. Got a friend who's a big DIY?? There may be a less $ way to accomplish this. Check around. - SteeljagExplorerCould not / would not be without our awning! ....and the electric awning is even better !!
- Caveman_CharlieExplorer III'm just a weekend camper that stays close to home. I hardly ever use my awning. I'm always afraid a wind will tear it off anyway. I could live without it. In the 3 years I've owned this camper I think I have had it out twice and only once did we set under it.
- colliehaulerExplorer IIIYou can buy just the replacement fabric and redo yours.
- jfkmkExplorerWe've found we only use our awning about 10% of the time we camp. We always choose shaded sites when possible and bring a 10x10 pop up awning. We like the table, etc a little farther away from the camper than the awning would allow. The 10x10, bought for parties at our house, was about $100.

x 3001 - LynnandCarolExplorerGotta have it! We use the awning area like a room and it is a must have for shade and in case of light rain showers! Ours has also seen better days and we are baby-ing it more or less, but will have to replace before much longer.
- outdoorloversExplorerLove my electric awning. Would feel naked without it.
