To "delete" or not to "delete"

Gotta admit Scott if you want real head gaskets get a Powder smoke. 6 liters are the best!

RVman3252, the DPFs are on these trucks for health reasons, not environmental reasons. It is the EGR and SCR/DEF systems that are for the environment.

You may be offered a buy back anyway and be able to get a new truck with Aisin Tranny and Air assist rear suspension. Chris

Hum all good points.... Except the marginal gaskets on a Cummins one. I do drive her like a truck, and am tickled to death with her performance. Yes the "delete" is about a EGR Delete... Thanks for most of the comments and I think they have valid points, I think I will just keep her as she is.

I deleted everything from my 08 at 48000 miles and now at 156000. Not one single issue. Runs like a champ. My job requires that I use the truck and I travel about 4500 miles a month. I consistently get 19 mpg on the highway and about 17 when I'm stuck in town. I still have all the original parts incase I ever have to go back.

A "delete" on a Cummins is pretty-well known to relate to EGR/DPF. That's way more than enough info to know what the OP means.

Drive it like a truck and not a grocery getter and you will not have any problems. The money spent will never be recovered. Start playing with the extra HP and there goes the head gasket. just ask Fish he post's this all the time.

My 11 HO same truck as yours NEVER went into forced regen. Fuel dilution was less then .05%.

If you still have a warranty there it goes!
