Tongue Jack Stand?

We installed the electric power tongue jack yesterday and I think it will be a huge improvement. However, it is designed to lengthen by removing a cotter pin device to lower stand to the ground then it needs to be shortened before towing. I was wondering about using a tongue jack stand to eliminate this step. Is using a tongue jack stand a problem?

I see the Valterra jack stand as pretty much the only option on Amazon. The reviews seem to love it or hate it. Has anyone here used it? Is there a better choice or just go with a block of wood?

    I have used one of these for years.. Works great. 10K capacity.. Solid, clean and easy to transport and store. Think I got it at Camping World.
    Except mine is yellow in color.. Valtera.

    I have an old foot that I kept from a worn out screw jack.

    Works the same as the one presented here, but not as pretty. Get to the camp site, lower the jack into the foot and raise the rig. To leave retract the jack pick up the foot and stow with your leveling blocks.

    This gives you extra clearance between the spring bars and the bottom of the jack.

    I have looked at the retractable foot devices out there and I prefer what I have, if I were going to buy something it would be the removable foot.

    I have always gone with a block of wood. To me the Valterra looks like an accident waiting to happen as you're balancing the tongue jack pole on a not much wider point on the stand.

    All the above suggestions work; I just carry the blocks of wood. If you want to get really fancy, go with Flip Jack swing away posted above.

    I installed one of these just before my vacation. Works great. Swings out of the way automatically as you raise the jack and drops into position as you lower it.

    I took a piece of pressure treated 2x8, cut it into 5, 12" lengths then stacked and screwed them all together to put under the jack foot. This works nice because the block fits perfectly next to my battery on the tongue of the trailer. I also screw a piece of nylon strap to it to act as a grab handle.

    I use a 6"x6"x12" under the tongue jack. If on really un-level ground, I add to it with 2"x6"x6"s. I use the same under all of the stabilizer jacks. Just go buy a treated 6"x6" and cut it to the sizes you want.
