I went from a 2008 duramax to a 6.4 hemi and i don't regret it at all. Yes, i lost the torque, but this hemi pulls my trailer perfectly fine. Diesel here is at least $.50 more per gallon than gasoline and i couldn't justify it in my case. I even get about the same mileage.
