If they are saying good luck but driving a 10 year old truck, then the last gasser you had was probably back in the days of the 460, 454, 350 and 351. That would be like me saying that my 6.0 chevy gasser can tow circles around the old gm 6.5 diesel. Not really a fair comparison.
The gas engines have pretty well been comparable in actual power to the diesels of the same model year. But if you haven't driven a gas truck for 15 to 20 years..... well things have changed.
Congrats on the new truck. Should do the job well for you.
2012 and 2014 6.2 Ford new enough for you? They will not tow with the 6.7 Powerstroke day in day out.
