Congrats on new truck.
There is also a practical reason for gas.
Many dealerships have one diesel mechanic or pretending to be one.
When they get stuck on a broken truck they guess IMO.
When your gas mechanic gets stuck he asks to the guy next to him.
Doesn't seem like big deal until your stuck at a unknown dealership thousands of miles from home.
Most dealership mechanics have more experience with gas.
I still have our old 2001 5.9 and still like it but I won't be buying a diesel truck again.
