How does one figure out the correct setup? Regular Super hitch or Magnum? 48" or 60" supertruss? I have a Lance 1172...what is the ideal length the hitch should be at so not to cause problem with rear of camper?

The ball should be at least at the back edge of the camper. This will keep the pivot point at a place where you can turn and go through dips without camper contacting the trailer. My ball sits just behind my camper.

  • Yes, it requires changing your receiver to a much heavier duty receiver, and the extension.

The double tube is the super truss, and it is a 32" extension to put the ball just past my steps.
Here you can see the double receiver.

Here is the hitch and truss with the chain reinforcements and no camper.

    I hope this helps!
  • Would anyone be able to email me pictures? Clayton.mcmullen95@gmail.comi would have to change my stock hitch?

I have an 11' camper. I use a Torklift Superhitch and 48" Super Truss extension. I tow my 4,500 pound boat on a tandem axle trailer. I also sometimes tow my 5,000 pound 7 x 14 tandem axle cargo trailer. The set up works great.
I'm not sure what 2 ATVs and a trailer weigh but I'd guess it's a good bit less.
Actually, the hitch I'm using is rated up to 6,000 pounds trailer weight without a weight distributing hitch and 12,000 pounds trailer weight with one so I'm no where near the limits of the design.
very cool thanks.yes way way lighter. So if I changed camper length say I sold it and bought a 10'?I would imagine they are very pricy .so I would have to change my stock hitch?
