I will have to travel 500 miles to see this vehicle.
Before doing so, I hope to get a couple of questions answered here:
Does anyone know how to find the payload capacity for this vehicle?
If the payload is truly only 2800 pounds, is this truck from a practical standpoint capable of handling this camper? If so, what modifications will need to be made?
From a legal perspective any truck out here has a payload determined by the trucks GAWR and in particular RAWR/tire capacities as it will carry most if not all of a TC weight.
Many GM one ton SRW may have a unladin rear axle weight in the 2800-2900 lb range which leaves around 3600 lbs for a payload.
I thought all late model 3500 SRW GM trucks with the Dmax had a 7050 RAWR. Anyhow the AAM 11.5" rear axle is good for up to 11000 lbs but GM rates the same axle on the DRW up to 9375 lbs due to tires wheels and springs.
Any trucks rear suspension can be modded with higher rated wheels/tires and SuperSprings or air bags/etc IF needed. I doubt it will need anything.
