QUOTE: "But I guarantee if the dealer doesn't know his product, I won't be buying it."
Seems a lot of guys here are quick to claim a dealer is wrong, untrained, can't give you answers. Which implies you have the answers and are testing the salesman instead of buying a truck.
Who cares if he knows anything - as long as YOU know what you want. If you're researching a truck, salesman SHOULD GET you answers, IF you ask him.
But if you know what you want, and are just shopping to put the salesman down, why waste your time. Find the truck you want and buy it ... then it only takes a salesman to write the papers, and they all know how to do that.
The idea here is: You are responsible to know what you want, and know capacity and capability of the truck you want -- it's your money. Anything and everything you imagine about trucks is available on the web ... I don't trust any salesman to tell me what I want to know about a truck, maybe he will, maybe he won't, maybe he can, maybe he can't -- but the single thing a salesman tells me that I care about: The PRICE of the truck that meets my needs ...
