TT Recommendation Needed

We currently have an Apex Nano 193 BHS and are looking for something similar but bigger. Looking for recommendations for:

-6000 lbs or less dry - tow capacity of 8800 lbs
-queen bed
-bunk beds - twin is OK but preferably double
-full time couch in addition to the dinette - don’t want a Murphy bed
-sink in the bathroom
-slide out
-four season-ish capable

That last one isn’t a requirement but I’ve noticed that a lot of the “four season” campers in general are just higher quality - Arctic Fox, Nash, Grand Design, etc.

Thanks all!

Thanks all! Tow vehicle is a Lincoln Navigator with heavy duty tow package, but we still have to be careful for tongue weight. I don’t want to go to a 3/4 ton truck as it would be my daily driver and likely wouldn’t fit in my garage or the parking garage at work.

Looks like the one posted by wanderingaimlessly would be an option. I’ll look at that one closely. As with pretty much everything in life, there will be trade offs.

Payload is going to be the limiting factor with an SUV. What does the sticker inside the door say?

The TT posted by wanderingaimlessly is 32 feet long and easily 7000 lb once it's loaded. I would not even consider something that big behind an SUV.

  • OP will need to look at more mass market models/brands. ORV, A/F are too heavy for his truck. Keystone Passports, Forest River Ultralights are what will meet the weight requirement, but they are not "premium" lines.
Even Grand design's transcend model 27 BHS pushes the limits.

    OK got one fer ya,,,

Or the same unit in silverstar line has a loveseat instead of the theatre seating.

    I did some more digging.....

ORV MFG has the Back Country class TTs. The 27DBS has sofa and big bunks

    Back Country Series Floor Plans

The 27DBS is also 33' long. The site doesn't give the dry weight, but with a GVWR of 9995 lb, it's too much for a 1/2 ton.

Sounds like you have a 1/2 truck based on your mention of 8800lb tow capacity.

The above specs for a new TT are likely going to put you at 26' and bigger... which might be more of a 3/4 truck TT.

From Outdoors RV, you have to go all the way to the 28BKS Timber Ridge to get bunks and a sofa.

    ORV Floor Plans

The Timber Ridge is a higher end model and heavier as a result.

For a Nash, you have to get the biggest, the 29S.

Arctic Fox - they are all big and very heavy so I won't even post details about them here.

Outdoors RV MFG is also a true four season RV. They are a sister company to Northwood Mfg (AF / Nash)

Both companies build their own frames rather than use Lippert junk.
