Tv Antenea

Is it possible to remove without damaging connection for future use? Don't use it and want to remove solar panel shadowing
  • You might end up with a gnarly hole to try to patch, since they know it will be covered with a big antennae base, it's usually a couple of inches in diameter.

If your antenna looks like this just remove the clips shown here and pull out the bolts. Then lift out the two arms. Then disconnect the RG cable connection. I would cover the Antenna connection with something to keep moisture out of it...

  • If you unscrew the tv cable fitting at the antenna head, you can remove the antenna head from the lifting arms of the Winegard crank up.

I am not sure how the other brands are installed but unscrewing the TV cable and securing it out of the way will make it availble for future use.

The cable carries the 12 power to the antenna head so it should be insulated from the roof and the 12 volt source disconnected or turned off.

The center conductor of the TV cable is the positive side the cable shield is typically ground. In the Winegard units the power to the antenna usually has an on-off push button on a small control panel.

You can remove anything you want but how difficult it may be will depend on just which type of antenna you have. If it's a crank up Winegard Sensar just unscrew the cable from the head, remove the head, then remove the extension shaft and leave the base in place. If it's a fixed antenna the process may not be as easy. So - why type of antenna are we talking about? :@
