I’m doing what I can to get a new engine. The service team wants it and they have let FCA know that. I have let the customer service/care guy know this as well. He gets two calls a day from me. I have told him that just a new cylinder head is unacceptable. Hopefully this will do some good.
I hope they give you a new engine for a couple reasons.
#1 They need to figure out why they had a failure and how to prevent it in the future
#2 Its the right thing to do for you. The cost of a new engine vs the cost of rebuilding your damaged engine is likely minimal in the long run. The customer service and good reputation is far more valuable than the couple dollars saved by simply fixing.
Further more, I would ask and expect a long term warranty supplied by the dealer or FCA to give you peace of mind. If FCA won't do it, the dealer can provide one for minimal investment and get good publicity for doing so.
Good luck OP, that sounds like a horrible situation. I'm so grateful that I've only had good experiences with my truck and FCA.
