V6 nissan frontier

We have a 2007 ext cab nismo edition at the dealership. I pulled an Amerilite 21MB 21 footer Dry weight of 3700. About 60 is all it would pull it. Any faster and I felt like it would fly apart.

I think I will try to pull with the frontier, maybe if my hubbie doesn't like it I can talk him into upgrading to a Titan, he is pretty into the frontier though.

I think a 23ft box is perfect size for what we do here in northern CA which is mostly Sonoma coast SP, Sierra SP, and El Dorado Federal parks. In fact we are looking bigger 26-30ft and im nervous I wont fit in my favorite places but need it for my growing family.

So if you have a diesel as a back up in case the Frontier does not pan out, Or just use the diesel for the hauls up the mountain and the Frontier for the coast, I say go for it.

As you will see from the attachment that I PM'd you, the Frontier as a tow vehicle is a typical example of "you run out of payload" before you hit any other limit.

I have nearly the same trailer. 2003 Trail Cruiser 23QB (made by R-Vision). I pulled it with my old truck just fine (2006 Nissan Titan 5.6 v8). MY co-worker who I bought it from use to pull it with a newer model Toyota Tacoma. I think you will be fine on the flats but if you ever want to pull up Donner Summit you will may regret it.

I now pull the same trailer with a 2012 Ram 3500. Over kill for sure but we want to upgrade eventually and needed a new truck. I will be selling mine for cheap in a few weeks if you interested. One last trip.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet. Some people are super-ultra-overly conservative. Personally, I don't think length is nearly as big an issue as some make it. If the tongue weight is proper and the hitch is set up correctly, the length shouldn't matter. I tow a 26' box about 31' overall with a Suburban and I know there are several members on here towing much longer very succussfully.

There are various sway control solutions. The cheapest and simplest is the bolt on bars. Next up the line would be a WD hitch with built in sway control. That is the level I use, the brand I have chosen is Blue Ox ( swaypro ). It works very well in my experience.

Top of the line would be ProPride or Hensley. At that level, plan on spending $2500 or more for a hitch.

By most reasonable accounts, all of them "work" to mitigate sway. Some no doubt work better than others, and you will find that generally, just about everybody on these forums that will respond about them, will say the one they have works well. In an overall sense, I would generally accept that means they all do what they are supposed to do.

My Frontier is an '06 CC.

I can tell you that with my Funfinder, which has 580 pounds of tongue weight, I am approx 525 pounds under the rear axle rating of the truck, as I am loaded to go camping. That is with the usual load of tools in the tool box in the bed, and all the normal stuff in the storage compartment of the camper. Full propane tanks. No water though in any tanks under the trailer. Just me in the truck ( I travel alone ).
