All it would take to get the higher 2000 lb payload rating would be stiffer rear springs. If they did that you'd have a pretty decent little truck.
A bit more than that so you do not get a rock hard ride.Lady passd two days ago with what looked like a 3 and 5 yr old sound asleep in their child capsules on the rear seats. - PAThwackerExplorerI go for the diesel function over fashion regardless of vehicle. I figured it was a game changer when the CRD libby came out. Had to have one, and then dirty diesel was history. UGGH!
- Perrysburg_DodgExplorerNot a fan of the front bumper/fender combo but otherwise a nice looking truck.
Don - PAThwackerExplorerIt has my attention as a 30mpg commuter/pickup Not too many of those around now or have I been missing something lately. I currently commute in a 15/23mpg 4 cyl 1.8t Passat. I burn tons of gas on my 120 miles daily, and car top my canoe. I break out my 10mpg sub to tow a jon boat, and camper. The multi tasking little pickup covers 3/4 of my needs.

This is the real deal a Nissan Navara with a 2,100lb payload Dual Cab and a 405lbs ft of torque 3 Litre diesel. It is a Renault engine, the Cummins has to cope with the lower Cetane level of US Diesel, that is why torque is only 385lbs ft in the prototype Frontier.
385 ft./lbs is still darn decent torque. Wasn't too many years ago that full size diesel pickups had that much, and it's still close to what the Isuzu cabovers have. All it would take to get the higher 2000 lb payload rating would be stiffer rear springs. If they did that you'd have a pretty decent little truck.RobertRyan wrote:

Thanks for sharing... Once you strip off all the gimmicky trash from the show truck (i.e. the one Fred is trying to sell), that's a pretty good lookin truck.- RobertRyanExplorer
