Water Shut Off ?

Very possibly running on borrowed time and a lot of luck without a pressure regulator....strongly suggest you make the minimal investment.

We don't usually shut off the water overnight during the spring/summer season. However, when the temps in the fall start getting toward the lower 30's we do. We try to remember to shut if off whenever we leave the area of our campsite, but sometimes "old" people forget...which seems to be happening more often lately. A good practice to get into.

One thing we did learn from some old camping buddies is that the very first thing I do after hooking up the water and turning it on is to go inside and double check none of the faucets have been left in the open position. One of their first trips with their HTT, they were with family in another trailer, unhooked, plugged in, hooked up the water and spent some time outside chatting.....until they saw water running out from under the trailer. Somehow, the faucet in the bathroom had been left in the open position and the stopper was in, so when the sink filled and filled.....not a good thing, so that is #1 after hookup.

If you have Pex plumbing in your trailer (which most do now) then you're lines are rated to 100psi at 180F and 160psi at 74F.

ya and you are just looking to have troubles with the water lines in the trailer by not using a regulator the lines in the trailer are only rated to with stand 45-50 psi it would only take it one time to have the pressure spike to 65 psi or more while you are gone from the trailer only to come back to a real mess ask me how i know but it is your trailer so you do as you think fit

My water filter already kills the pressure enough and the one time I tried a regulator we got a trickle out of the faucets and shower so I stayed with just the filter.

Have not turned it off in 9 years. No leaks.

I usually try to turn the water off at the spigot if I leave for very long. ALWAYS use a regulator. Camping in Missippi one time we left for the day and came back to find we had opened a water park for the squirrels. They loved it!!!

Here is our set up...always on if we are at the trailer (night or day). If we leave we shut it off.

I took a simple approach. No side inlet. I got a low costs coil hose and tee-d in and store it behind the bumper. No more winding up a hose, just let it slide out the pvc pipe.

Do you happen to have photos of this mod? How it is stored? That sounds like a plan if the one I just installed fails this time.
