We have mice....

The problem with the "green blocks" is that any thing that eats the mouse after it eats the block gets poisoned too. I don't believe in poisons when there are so many other methods that are safer. But, That is my opinion.

I Have the name of the green blocks "Tomcat" and the alternative is "RAT" blocks. They work as well. The mouse eats it and goes off to seek water and dies somewhere else. We use them on our farm as they are harmless to cats and dogs.

What are these magical "green blocks" of which you speak?

A good friend of mine is an exterminator, he said the green blocks do have a coagulant, one nibble and they soon die, 99% make it outside. We've used them for years & they work *FAST*, no guessing, no on going war. I own / manage rental properties as well, some out in the country. Every fall, the mice try to come in from the cold and I get calls about them. Once I put the blocks out, within a day or two there is no more evidence (black rice), 99% time no smell. The few times there was a smell, it lasted no more than a week. Tenants would rather deal with a smell for a week than being over run by mice. Even in my TT I leave them out, there will never be an infestation in there. I've seen these blocks work like I claim for over 25 years, like magic.

As long as the hole doesn't contain any kind of wiring, I'd use steel wool. Mice, rats and other creepy crawlies won't eat steel wool.

Mice will eventually chew through expanding foam, given their will.

I use steel wool, and spray foam to hold it in place. The mice start chewing, but once they hit the steel wool they give up.

What do you folks use for sealing up mice size holes. Like around LP lines or where wiring goes through the floor? Seam sealer? Caulking? Expanding foam?

1) dryer sheets do not work... My buddy had them in his RV and they used it as TP.
2)ultrasonic pest repellents do work.. but you need to be plugged in or have a good solar system.
3) dont be "humane" kill them.. they will ruin your RV.. they love to chew on electrical wiring..

A little update. We put the mint soaked cotton balls under the sink where the most traffic was, and under the couch where the shore power cable is. The place reeked but the signs of mice activity stopped. I told the DW that we would probably still have to trap them. So we took out the mint balls and put in a couple glue traps. I baited them with a torn raisin in peanut butter. Nothing for the first few days. She noticed yesterday there are droppings in the kitchen drawer, but still no mice.

My first obvious answer question, I haven't read the package, but I had a dim flicker in my brain last night and realize the glue probably only stays sticky for a short time? Anyone have any experience with how long they will catch the mice?

We had a mouse last year.It got in through the power cord opening.Didn`t know he was in there until we took him camping one weekend with us. The wife and I figured it out but we didn`t dare tell the teenage girls.The wife left water in the sink overnight and the next morning I reached into the sink to drain it. Guess what I pulled out instead of the drain plug? You guessed correctly. The dead bloated mouse.And yes it caught me off guard and I yelled "Holly Sh*t"! I used to keep power hooked to it all the time at home.Not anymore.But when I do I always make sure nothing is getting in through the cord opening. We`ve been mouse free ever since.Kind of a long story,but it was really funny. At least the wife thought so.
