Weighed my truck today, (see sig) ....full tank of diesel and DEF and ONLY things missing were our two boxers and the wife, (some of that information needs to remain "top secret":))....I know those weights so with "just me", truck weighed 9140#, steer axle was 5280# Rear axle was 3860# and gross weight was 9140#...add the wife and the dogs and you get 9420#.....GVWR is 14,000# with a RAWR of 9750#.....Next will be to re-weigh my 5er when I tow it home in November. I know I won't be over any of the posted weights (GCWR is 37,000#), but want to re-weigh....Also topped off the DEF tank, I had gone 3102 miles since last "top off"....gage was showing that I had just under 3/4's of a tank....it took 2.65 gallons and I had driven 3102 since last top off.... equaling, 1170.5 mpg of DEF, ( I have gotten as high as 1350mpg of DEF on last tank top off)...I always fill to where the pump kicks off and I stop... I've used the same pump each time I've "topped' the tank off at the same station...paid $2.84 a gallon for the DEF.Anyway, thought someone might be interested in the weight and a report on DEF usage, which I can live with.:)

Rear end ratio is in my sig. 4:10....which, in hindsight is overkill, but do all my towing in the mountains, and was what I had gone with before....I too am very eager to tow with this truck, but got it in May, didn't get a picture frame adapter till July and by then, I'd parked my 5er at my camp in WV and cancelled every trip I had planned.

Running empty on trips, running speed limits on Interstate and a tad over....have gotten 17 mpg ....daily driver, depending on traffic, as high 16 and as low as 15.5...which, to me, considering the size of the truck and it's weight, is something I can live with.

Your mileage doesn't sound too bad, especially when you consider it's the 4.10 axle. I will find it interesting to hear how the 3.42 axle is doing for empty mileage. Towing mileage will likely be similar with either axle.

Rick, figured truck would be heavier with all the changes. The 2010 had a GVWR of 12,200# and GCWR with 4:10 of 24,500#, the 2012 had GVWR of 12,300# and GCWR of 25,000# with 4:10....The 13, though heavier added 1700# more GVWR, went with 9750# rated rear axle and a GCWR, well, out the roof:B
