The new f-150 is the 3/4 ton of the 70's.:)
I've been saying this for years!! They really need to do away with the antiquated 1/2, 3/4, 1T ratings!! - jaycocreekExplorer III find these kinda threads humorous. My f-150 has the same door sticker as my old f-250 which pulled numerous 34 and 35 foot trailers and fifth wheels.I pull a 30ft keystone with it now loaded with generators/firewood/ATVs what ever I put in the bed... Plenty of power for all the hills central Idaho has to offer.
More torque in my 5.4 than my son's 2500HD 6.0.... The new f-150 is the 3/4 ton of the 70's.:) - KalabinExplorerFew years ago I towed a 2008 Keystone outback 21RS with a 2006 F150 lariat 5.4, tow package, 3.73 etc. Honestly the 5.4 had plenty of power what I didn't like was the four speed. Went from that to the diesel 6.4, and now back to a gasser. Only reason I wanted the bigger truck was because I had the opportunity to drive them on my job. Otherwise the F150 did perfectly fine.
Think the GVWR of that trailer was in the 6200lb range. - lngwca2600ExplorerFor 8 years I put a 10,000 lb toy hauler wwfs2500 behind my 5.4. Ran like a champ. Recently sold truck 150k miles. Found a used 08 6.4 to tow with now. Loved that f150. Towed like a champ

Well, I could tell you, but that would just open up another "Food" fight. You should know by now "F-150" is fighting words. To most on this forum if you tow with a F-150 you might as well go out back and shoot yourself!
I'll show you what I mean; I have a 2013 F-150 4X4 with 8200GVW Max tow package, Eco-boost. I tow a 2012 Cougar High Country 321RES. I have towed it through every possible road condition; 10" of snow, ice storm in the mountains of Pennsylvania, tornados in North Carolina, 30 MPH side winds in Georgia 107* heat of D.C. & Virginia. I towed it all through the mountains of VT(my home state), NH, NY and VA. I've logged on 12K miles with this trailer and 24K with another F-150 and Sprinter 29'. I also tow a 5 ton dump trailer and a 32' pontoon boat (10K lbs.). I've always felt I was safe and in full control the vehicle. My MPG is between 10 to 14 MPG. This truck also serves as my service truck and daily transportation so it has to be dependable. Oh and one other thing... It's also equipped with a snow plow. Let the "food fight" begin.
I am on your side. lol
