Hi. I had asked about the 08 09 jeep grand cherokee with the diesel. I don't own one but they sound like they might be a good choice but I've been hearing some conflicting things about how good it is at towing. I know it's rated for 7200 but I would really appreciate hearing what people have pulled or tried to pull with these. I know it's less than ideal for my 29 foot TT because of the length but could it handle the weight (6000 or so) if I wanted to pull it occasionally? My wife's durango is what pulls it now. I've got the 2008 Jeep GC diesel. I pull a 20' Vibe that's around 4,000 lbs. I cruise between 60-65 mph. I use an Equalizer weight distribution and stabilizer hitch set-up. I've travelled all over and spend a lot of time around the Blue Ridge. I pull the TT with ease and am thinking of trading up. I understand that Jeep states the maximum trailer length is 30'. You're not going to break any speed records but I wouldn't worry about it's pulling capacity. The jeep does have a narrower wheelbase so I would definitely recommend weight distribution and sway control. I also spent a lot of time this summer in really hot weather and I didn't notice any difference.

Years ago, I had a Wrangler CJ-7 that pulled a stock trailer with two horses - with an inline 6 gas engine. I would imagine the diesel could pull more.
