  • I live in the Pocono Region. Local routes and secondary roads will kill a gasser. Trust me! I'm killing a 6.0 3.73 burb.

A one ton dual rear axle diesel from any of the three Ford/GM/Dodge will work. And is a lot more practical than a MDT.

When did the northeast grow mountains anyway? You don't mean those hills do you?

Well, yes, they are hills. But climbing from Denver over the first mountain (5,000 feet to 11,000 feet) with a 6-7% grade all the way is not dissimilar from climbing many of the 6,000 foot mountains/hills in the east from near sea level, save that non-turbo engines are short more power for the pull at the higher altitudes.

I just did that climb beyond Denver a couple weeks ago. Earlier this summer I climbed a 2,000 foot peak here in Virginia with a 15% grade. Either way, both are tough on the equipment.

  • MDT ^^ that.

What you 'need' vs. what you can get by with are two different things.
