The issue, the dang sticker in driver door that said payload 1300 lbs.
So, what are the real world risks, warnings, or just plain ole criticisms of exceeding the printed payload by 200-300lbs?
Generally..........nil to non on most trucks. Remember many trucks before '05 don't have a payload sticker (tire placard).
However "some" of the new gen trucks have a high GVWR and low RAWR numbers. Using the tire placard sticker payload number on these trucks can over load the trucks RAWR/tire ratings.
Every truck out here operating commercially does not carry weight determined by the mfg payload rating which is based on a GVWR number or the GVWR itself. I'm talking about the same trucks we RV with.
Regardless of size of the truck just stay under axle/tire load ratings.
