What your describing I see all the time. There are several trucks out there that are overloaded on a daily basis and suffer no visible damage that I know of. Now I am by no means agreeing with this but pointing out what I have seen. So there are several of us that have changed from the 1/2 ton to 3/4 or higher depending on our needs. I will say that going from a 1/2 ton to 3/4 ton in my case was the best thing that I could have done. Stability was a large factor and the floating feeling in my 1/2 ton when pulling was just annoying after a while. So if u love ur truck just find a smaller camper to fit it, if not time to upgrade to a 3/4 ton gas or diesel ur choice.. Regardless it's always better to buy the camper then buy the truck to match. Easier said then done, but for most of us working for a living and raising kids this is not always the case since our truck can also be are DD. Now I drive my truck at times but have a car as DD so that works well for me. I won't bash your truck, my brother owned a similar truck and loved it. In his case pulling company trailers around the country it became quickly apparent that he needed a HD truck and hence he got one. I wish that Toyota offers a 3/4 ton one day, but will see. I don't feel the Titan will match a 3/4 ton payload like some do, but no doubt that new truck with the diesel option will work for some. Good luck on your venture, keep us posted.
