- hedgehopperExplorerA Rival from Walmart and a Magic Chef from Home Depot we returned because they were too big. A Haier looked like it might work but I couldn't find one anywhere. Finally, I found a GE (JE740DRWW) online that I thought might work, depending upon which advertised height was correct, 10.19 or 9.88.
DW found one at an Appliance Factory Outlet. The price was reduced substantially because the unit was supposedly "out of the box." The warehouse guy unwrapped it so I could measure it. It looked to be in perfect shape. As best I could tell, the height was 10.00. If I could figure out how to get it through the 9.75 high cabinet opening, it would work, I thought. So we bought it.
The installation is now partially complete and the microwave is in the cabinet. When I finish, I will have some pictures. Thanks for all your inputs. - trailgranny50ExplorerI just installed my new microwave today. It's a Walmart cheapie 700w. Smallest I could get and lowest wattage in case I want to use it with 2000w generator. My old camper came to me with wiring in place for both AC and microwave. Word a receptacle for microwave today, cut hole in cabinet for plug to feed thru as the one over the range hood is the one that's wide enough to give venting on both sides and top. Just have to secure it now. Not in camper but think it's a Rico, $49.00. If it dies I'm not or much. Only thing that's wording me some is the old original 45amp converter. Guess as long as it keeps working and I don't use too much 12v stuff at same time and surely not the AC simultaneously, all will be well. Have a new 65 Amp converter in the box bought early on in the rehab of this camper, just in case.
- 2oldnslowExplorerI have a Rival brand microwave from Walmart that is 9-1/2" high. It is a 700W model so it cooks a little slower than the bigger units but works fine for me.
- sleepyExplorerthe reason for my last post was in hopes the OP would read the manual for the microwave of his choice.
... looking at clearence issues, ventalation issues, and maybe find an alternative location so that he can get a microwave installed before the next trip.

Our 2002 Northern Lite 10-2 CD came without a microwave installed. We would like to put one in an overhead cabinet. The opening in the cabinet is only 9 3/4 high. What make and model would be small enough? My Google searches have turned up nothing.
I realize that this isn't an answer to your question: Sometimes thinking out of the box will open up new ideas.
I spent a little time looking at the placement and size of the microwave in our camper... Lance's original installation. and I took some data just to start off.
It is a Samsung...with a revolving turntable.
It is 11" tall x 20 3/8" wide. Mounted in a cabinate over the stove hood.
In addition... it also has legs that are about 3/4" tall... with a 20 3/8" wide vent grill across the front opening created by the legs
And the front/top also has vent opening that is 20 3/8" wide x 1 1/4" tall
Note: Requirement... the microwave MUST be vented. (Thermal protection for the microwave electronics and fire prevention for the camper.)
In other words our microwave... actually requires a minimum front opening of 20 3/8" wide and 13 1/2" tall
The door data:
1.4 Watt (1400 watts) power input, 120VAC, 60 Hz (I measured it with my watt meter... the AC power input is 1482 watts) It does require a dedicated circuit with a circuit breaker with this much power input.
The Microwave door data also states: It is rated at 1000 W microwave output power.
The usable space inside the microwave is 13 1/4" wide, 13 1/2" deep and 8 1/4" tall.

Why do you care?
I hope that this will give you a better understanding of what you need to actually fit.
I would personally look at other cabinate spaces to install the microwave of my choice.
Your microwave won't be far away in a truck camper... I can prepare a meal without moveing my feet in our camper and set the table too
Good luck to you
Post pictures when you get it finished.

Yea, It's overkill, but "all microwaves" means just that.
Edit...... Ah never mind.
