What models of trailers are well built?

#1. 2006 Citation mine is a 26RKS. Superlative Floor plan for a 27' unit. Absolutely the best use of interior space I've yet to see in Any 5tg wheel in its class. And when it comes to winter camping, good for -30C without skirting... dbl pane windows - heated tanks - all the ducting is insulated...Aluminum structure...best unit I have ever owned and it's 11 yrs old. There's a reason they sell for a premium up here in Canada...too many loons camping in the winter...lol.

2nd would have to be the Sandpiper 27RB we had for a number of years. Biggest washroom I ever seen to date...only issue we found with this one was with a mid kitchen and the end counter sticking out a bit, when you pulled the couch out, you could'nt access the rear bathroom and had to climb over the bed...bad design and why they didn't put the dinette in that spot is beyond me. Still, pulled beautifully using a Reese Dual Can set up. Lots of living room with a 14' slide...

#3 Coachman Chaparall 30' 5th with triple slides, massive rear living area.... But near zero counter space, but one could access the fridge with the slides pulled in..a pet peeve of ours when on the rd. Also having a slide out on the same side as ones awning sucks...ya loose too much awning and it crimps the living space...an issue in inclement weather.

Not impressed with Pilgrim or R-Vision. Seemingly fast built with out a lot of quality..junk.

For what it's worth..

Cheers from Northern Alberta, where I'm working and living in my Citation...and loving it, why not, get paid 120/day for living allowance..!! Sweet.

I would say you got REAL lucky with the Wilderness. I had a 2003 built in the Maryland plant. By the time it was two years old, it was heading back to the factory for a total rebuild. The entire floor was rotten out. At that time my dealer had stopped accepting units built at another one of the Fleetwood plants, as the quality was so bad that he was spending dozens of hours finishing and repairing them before they were even marginally acceptable. You mentioned a 2009 fleetwood. By the time the recession hit, the company was in bad shape, with stock trading for pennies, and they went under. IMHO, they were far from great products in the 2000s, and by the time 2009 rolled around, the company was about a corpse, so I wouldn't be expecting that they were doing their best work by that point.

Okay. Had to go do some work and other stuff. I had done a massive amount of research today trying to find models to look for.

It seems that that either the floor plans I like, were not made until the last couple years, or I don't know the names of the models that had the same floor plan five or six yeas ago. When I search for the models that have the floor plans I want, all I get is results for brand new RVs. Can anyone here tell my if there are older models with these floor plans? Please.

Now I prefer the 23DHS to the 29S because it is shorter, but you can see the basic floor plan I am after. I want a a slide out and a full size a bunk bed. I also want a private wall for the master queen bed.

Are there any older models of either Outdoors RV or Northwoods that have these same models?

I drove up the Dempster Highway to Inuvik in the Canadian Arctic in 2007 with a 2006 Nash,24', 22GQ, (Northwood Mfg.). That's 450 miles, one way of unpaved road and then you get to come back. The Nash was wood frame, aluminium siding. The only problem was, the kitchen stove loosened up and I had to replace the mounting screws. That wouldn't sleep six but a Nash or Arctic Fox. 25R might. I am thinking about going up there again. I now have a 30', 2008, Arctic Fox 29V with two slide outs. Northwood advertises there products as, "off road". I have found both my Northwood products to be very well built.

Winnebago bought Sunnybrook/Mobile Scout to start building their towables, (Minnie etc.) While they are in the top group of "traditional" travel trailers, not sure they are as heavy duty and well built as the old Sunnybrooks.

Thanks for those links. I like them, they are just a lot bigger then what I want. Even that Wilderness was way bigger then what I want, but it was close by. I really want something in the 24 to 26 range if at all possible. I am not eliminating 30 footers, but they are a last resort at this point.

Can't answer for the build quality of the Fleetwood model you mentioned, but if your budget of $10K has moved "up" and you want a strong and well-built trailer, consider this one in Cleburne:2006 Mobile Scout 30FKS
