What to put under tires for seasonal camping?

I'd be more worried about protecting from the uv rays and the weedeater.

We use dirt, grass, concrete or whatever is under them at the time on our motorhomes. We run our tires for 8 to 10 years and change them. Worked so far.

I don't put anything down. Why would I?

All of my vehicles tires sit on dirt mud water gravel or whatever year around. Never any problems. It's not broke and I'm not fixing it.

Where I store my trailer at the in-laws, I laid down 8 12"x12" pavers in a row. (4 for each side of the trailer) Just pull on to them them. Its easier than trying to park it exactly on 4 separate pavers.

I'm no expert, but I've read that on dirt, grass, gravel, or even concrete, the tires suck up moisture and deteriorate.

Maybe someone has a link to such articles.

What is it about dirt or grass on a tire that would matter? I can see wanting it up out of standing water, and you don't want the wheel/hub/axle exposed to water or mud. But grass and dirt on the rubber? The only thing I can think of is what someome mentioned about protection from the weedwacker.

My one side is up on wood, while the other is on gravel. Since my side yard is not level, I need to prop up one side about 6" with wood planks, while the other lies on gravel at ground level. Only one side gets exposed to sun, so those tires are covered.

Yep! I was wondering if there was something new I had never heard of.

If sitting for 4+ months, I always park all my trailers (RV, Utility, Boat) on boards. This keeps rubber off the ground - away from mud / junk. And, away from the weed eater blade. LOL! This works for me. re: - click here -
