Thanks everybody.
My truck is a 2000 Dodge QCLB with 19.5 wheels and tires, level kit(springs), Traction bars, add a packs and overload camper springs, over sized sway-bar, bilstiens, 500 plus HP,3rd gen brakes, Allison 5speed transmission, and an exhaust brake.
I'm probably going to end up with a Eaglecap 995, although I would like the 1160. I'm pretty sure that the 1160 is really pushing it. Do you think I'll be OK with a 995? I have already had over 5000 in the bed.
I may be towing a 2000 lb. boat(with trailer) from time to time.
I switched from a 2004 Dodge 5.9 2500 SRW to a dually in advance of trading up from a 3,400 Citation 9-6 to a EC 995. At the time I felt the 2500 (with tembrens only) was fairly maxed out with the Citation. The fully optioned 995 with solar, full LPG, and 2 batts tips the scales at about 4,350. With the dually I've run for over 4 yrs with only tembrens (with good service) and sway stops (to engage the overloads), but due to rough stretches of hwy 5, I've recently added 2 leafs to each rear main pack, so now in a 4500 territory. Quite honestly, I wouldn't want to put the weight of a 995 on my older 2004 Dodge 5.9 SWR 2500...JMHO.
Best Regards,
3 tons - 214skierExplorerWe are running a 2009 F250 SD diesel with Firestone bags. We have E rated Toyos and aftermarket rims. We carry an Adventurer 93FDS and often pull a 21 ft ski boat. We pull over Cascades with no issues ever. Lots of power and stability.
- SP1ExplorerWe have a Lance 1071. It is 10' 6" in length with a curb side slide and dry bath. Very comfortable for us. I added two solar panels and a packmaster storage container to the roof. It's on the heavy side for our 2500HD SRW so I changed shocks to Rancho 9000's, added air bags and went to 19.5" wheels and tires with a 4800 lb rating.
Loaded, the 1071 is looking at 4000lb. Last trip was 500 miles at 10.3 mpg. Comfortable and stable
See you out there, - BugsRLBExplorer2000 Lane 1010 on the back of a Chevy Silverado 2500HD 8' bed with the Alli/DMax combo.
Added air bags. Get about 11-12 mpg. - RipitExplorerI have a 2013 Crewcab 6.5 Bed 2500HD Duramax. Just bought a 2007 Outfitter Apex 8. I can't even tell its on the truck. I don't have any mods. I get about 15 mpg at 70 mph.
- Shiv_TooExplorer2008 LB Ram & Lance 950S. Added Hellwig sway bar & Firestone bags. Sway bar was a great addition - bags are just good for leveling ride. Got Vision81 wheels with 245/70/19.5s put on this week (16ply) but have not tried them w/camper yet.

Billtex, when I went to the 285/75-16 nitto's, I had to buy new rims that were wider. I ended up with Gear alloy rims that are rated for the 3750# the tires are. My tire guy told me the oem rims were too narrow. Went with 8 1/2 wide if I remember correctly
Thanx wheelholder...could you PM a ballpark of what all that $?

Bill, Wintersun has a 2011 2500HD, the OEM wheels are 17"
GM changed to 17" OEM wheels?
I see these are also available in 285/75R16/10...will these fit GM 16" OEM wheels?

I have a 2011 2500HD and a Lance 845 with a wet weight of 4,000 lbs which the truck handles very well. I upgraded the tires to 285/70R17 Nitto Terra Grapplers that are rated at 3750@80 PSI,
I see these tires rated at 2833#...isn't that kind of light duty for a TC?
Am I missing something; Nitto Terra Grapplers
There are two different Nitto Terra Grappler tires with very different load ratings. Mine are rated on the sidewall 3750@80 PSI and they replaced Firestone Transforce that were rated 3195@80 PSI.
Can you run those Nittos on OEM GM wheels?
(hey winter...you should fill out your sig so we can tell what you are running...)
