Forum Discussion
- NJRVerExplorerI like the grille.
They should put a pair of lights in those spots. - 4X4DodgerExplorer IIThis topic has devolved into something that sounds more like a bunch of 12 year-old boys arguing in the schoolyard about whose Dad can beat up the others.
None of the automakers are making "JUNK", as one poster called the Ford. All of the big three and Toyota all make great products. I have my own opinions on which are slightly better than the other for one reason or another.
But that discussion seems impossible to have on any reasonable basis here.
Having said that and while I enjoy all the luxury and gadgets on my new '14 Dodge I have to say that there is a part of me that longs for the simplicity and "atmosphere" of my uncle's 53 Chevy pick up with the starter button on the floor, the stick shift with it's big round phenolic ball handle, the thick vinyl seats and it's simple mechanics. - BedlamModeratorIt is true that the VIN is still identified as Dodge - At least it is is on my 2015.
- transamz9ExplorerMy 2005 does not have Dodge on it anywhere and I have owned it since new and I have not removed any badges.

Now fast forward and it's interesting (actually sad) how Bloomberg (or whatever his name is who is in charge of RAM today) want's RAM trucks to distant themselves as far away from Dodge as possible.
You should learn to use Google more Tory, it was under Fred Diaz that Ram became it's own Line.
Executives at Chrysler have stated their intention to compete in the semi-trailer truck category with Ram, a possibility that is aided by Fiat's ownership of Iveco and an already available network of Dodge dealers. Even though the Ram trucks are marketed separately from Dodge cars, Former Ram Division President Fred Diaz stated, "Ram trucks will always and forever be Dodges. Ram will always have the Dodge emblem inside and outside and they will be vinned as a Dodge. We need to continue to market as Ram so Dodge can have a different brand identity hip, cool, young, energetic. That will not fit the campaign for truck buyers. The two should have distinct themes.
I don't understand why some have an issue with the Ram truck being it's own line. The SRT is coming back under the Dodge banner this year. The Dart and Journey are getting an SRT version. 2015 is the last year for the Dodge Caravan and Avenger. Chrysler will only offer the minivan after 2015.

Correct me if I am wrong but there is not a single location on the 13 and newer trucks that say DODGE.
Only place on my 11 is the little cubby above the stereo. - mich800Explorer

Hey i'm bashing RAM for the aZZ ugly grille and tailgate.
That is winter on RV.net. Funny how a tread about one mfg's new design eventually morphs into "wait, the brand I don't like is ugly too". - Perrysburg_DodgExplorer

The current Dodge ad is very misleading. Listening to it, one would get the impression the Dodge brothers were on the Ford payroll and then quit to form their own company.
Not true. The Dodge brothers had their own company which supplied components to many of the other car manufacturers in Detroit. All the Dodge brothers did was stop supplying components to the other manufacturers, including Ford, and began producing their own complete automobiles.ROBERTSUNRUS wrote:
Oh, and don't you forget that the Dodge Brothers also worked for Henry Ford. :S
:) Hi, I believe, but could be wrong, the Dodge Brothers made frames for Ford. It was the Dodge commercial that insinuated that the Dodge Brothers quit Ford to go out on their own. - ROBERTSUNRUSExplorer

:) Hi, I like the new grill, but hate the tailgate. Luckily for Ford owners they will only see the Dodge grill in their rear view mirrors. :B - Cummins12V98Explorer III
