- blt2skiModeratorSo my 82 IHC 4600 is classic antique?!?!?
C2500 and spouses ML350 close.
Hmmmmmmm
Marty - allen8106ExplorerHistorical is a fancy name for antique which usually occurs after 25 years of age.
- BCSnobExplorerHistoric vehicles in MD do not need emissions testing but cannot be used for daily driving. Our current tow vehicle almost qualifies as “historic”.

Wild to think my 1999 7.3 F-250 would be a historic vehicle.
In MD historic tags are available for cars over 20years. For cars over 50years you get a plate designating over 50 (have one on my 1966 mustang fastback GT). Over 60 there is another plate (no registration renewals). - ppineExplorer IIOver 50 years old is one definition.
That is how "historical artifacts" are defined. - BCSnobExplorerIn MD historic tags are available for cars over 20years. For cars over 50years you get a plate designating over 50 (have one on my 1966 mustang fastback GT). Over 60 there is another plate (no registration renewals).
- PA12DRVRExplorerCan't speak to the "classic" or "historical vehicle" plate, but my old 1983 GMC truck that was recently stolen (2016) was historical as far as I'm concerned
- Drove the wife and I to our honeymoon cruise when we married
- Taught two kids to drive in it;
- Hauled gear to / from the remote cabin for 20 years
- Hauled son's 1st moose out with it
- Many fishing trips
- Carted 3 grandkids around for a few years
- Helped remind #1 son that maybe the old man and the old truck weren't washed up when son buried his Wrangler more than once and had to be snatched out with the old truck
- Used it for 2-3 road trips on the Alcan
Lots of history in it, so historic as far as I'm concerned. - RamRiderExplorerTexas Antique License Plate:
In order to qualify for Texas antique vehicle registration, your vehicle must be at least 25 years old, and can only be used on a limited basis such as car shows, exhibitions, parades, and travel to and from repair and maintenance facilities. - drsteveExplorer

Father nearly bought a 1953 Cadillac mint condition . One unusual one here is the prewar and WW2 Utes based on Chevrolet , Buick, Pontiac or English vehicles.
Buick Ute
English Ute
Chevrolet Ute
Those are really cool... - SweetLouExplorer

I have historical vehicle plates on my 1964 Thunderbird. You can get them when the vehicle is a certain age and falls under the usage rules required by the state (non DD, etc.).
Their great, no more yearly tabs or any other fee's what so ever.
One can even use old original plates:
Won’t be long until your new neighbors coming from the state a little south of you put a stop to that.
While I agree, the state you are referring to has the permanent trailer license plates where Washington does not.
