I recently swapped my Honda 3000 (which road in the back of the truck, strapped, wrapped and locked in the bed) for 2 - 2000's. I'm wondering where others store theirs while traveling? I have a large opening in the living area where my TV (that's television) goes and both fit in that opening nicely, not to mention the slide completely covers this opening when it's in. I feel this could be a good location, out of site in the event the trailer was broken in to. I remove the TV from this spot while traveling so it's empty anyway.How about under the bed? I do not have an outside storage door that will accommodate the size. Thoughts???

Personal opinion - but I really don't feel storing gas generators indoors is a good option. I'd continue to keep them in the back of the truck. But that's just me.

I modified a Rubbermaid Bin (7 pics) which totally seals in any gas / oil odours and allows me to store my EU2000i in my workshop. When on a camping trip it sits in the back of my Avalanche, out of sight, out of mind, but readily available anytime I may need it. More recently I developed an EU2000i Quiet Box which when running in my Avalanche's closed cargo compartment reduces noise to a light hum that's barely audible just 20' away. :B

Even if you closed the tank vent AND run the carb "empty" there WILL be residual gasoline in the carb which if you have never noticed it only takes ONE SMALL TINY drop of gasoline to stick up things in a hurry.

Why don't you just carry them in the bed of your truck?

Seems to be the simplest and cleanest solution..

If you have a bed cover for your truck, you are good to go..

You mean you don't store your TV(Tow Vehicle)in the coach? I was wondering how big a coach you had. LOL I would NEVER store gasoline in the coach, especially if I was in there. Bed of the truck and secured.

I keep my in the bed of the TV, I have a hard cover on it. If I need the generator, I can run it straight from the bed which is nice if it is raining.

I keep my eu3000i on one of these. Locked and covered when not in use. No reason it couldn't be used for twin 2000's.

Somehow I recall there are trailers called Toyhaulers that store combustion engine vehicles/toys inside the trailer and it doesn't seem much an issue. Yes, some have closed off garages in toy haulers but there are a large amount that don't.

Will fuel leave a residual smell if it spills? Sure it will. Is it the end of the world? Only you can decide that.
