- gmw_photosExplorerI use a blue ox, so it's "clean". Once situated at camp, I set the head and the bars in the side compartment where the shore cord and the water hose usually reside while traveling. I have a piece of household carpet cut to fit the floor in the pass thru storage compartment, so the flooring does not get damaged by heavy items like this.

Ok I have a plan. I'm going to buy this bag for the stabilizer bars and the any sway bar thingy. https://www.rvupgradestore.com/Sway-Bar-Hitch-Storage-Bag-p/14-9337.htm?gclid=CjwKCAjw0qLOBRBUEiwAMG5xMPGvcNA-NLpkpZ8jpmVLR0Rdzlcicyv8yM_HegthLgZ1OhGTmiIVAxoC9L4QAvD_BwE&gdffi=d722fab84a06472899ce2a16e4d2ed3f&gdfms=6C8A2B393DEB40FB8480172FCA5D6981
I'm then going to put the hitch under the back seat in my ford F150 as there's a lot for it.
It's a new RV trailer. I don't want to scratch it all up quite yet :) - TimtationExplorerI use an Andersen hitch and have neither the weight or space problems of storage. ;-)

Fastway Hitch Ball Cover. :B - DutchmenSportExplorerI keep mine in my front pass-through all the time when not in use. I don't have a separate box or compartment, and have found over 20 years of RV ownership, this is probably the easiest place to keep them. One side of the pass-through is for storing the hitch and WD bars, my 30 amp extension cords, and stuff like that. The other end of the pass-through is for lawn chairs, yard mat,few tools, wires, odd-and-ends stuff.
The hitch and bars stay clean, dry, and out of the way. I know where they always are, and they are always with the camper this way. For me, this works. I can only share how I do it. Others do it their own way too. - rbpruExplorer IIMost folks grease the TT ball, so I keep mine covered with a judiciously sized tin can. My hitch ball assembly weights at least 50 lbs. I carry it from the back of the truck to the pass through storage.
If I am visiting the local tourist traps. I may put in into the truck bed so it does no hang out into the parking lot too far. - ken56ExplorerHitch head in my garage when not camping and on the ground with a cable lock through it and locked to the A-frame when camping. Spring bars are in a storage compartment. I have a Equal-i-zer brand so its not greasy and no chains for the locking cable. If you have a hitch that needs grease keep plenty of rag on a roll near by. If my hitch gets a little beat up looking I just paint it.

is there some type of an aftermarket box that I can store the hitch and stabilizer bars in?
Presumably you mean the weight distribution spring bars and the hitch head ... if so, that's a heck of a lot concentrated weight, as much as 100 lbs. :( I just stick my hitch head in the workshop when we're not camping, when we are it's mounted in the truck's hitch receiver. Spring bars live in the trailer's front pass through storage compartment when not in use - simple. :) - TakamineExplorerI built a wood box for that and it's in the front storage compartment.
