Hi Dan,
I've been wondering if you have taken a peek at the no slide out toy hauler travel trailers.
Yes, they have a large ramp door, but they have pretty reliable closure mechanisms and latches and a proven technology in the piano hinged door.
Now, why mention this?
Many of them convert the 'garage' to queen size bunk beds.
Nevermind a safe place to store your outdoor goodies while in transit. I can't stress how unsafe gear is in a truck bed. One of the reasons I prefer a SUV or a van is security. Anyway, I digress.
Some toy haulers tend to be...well....more robust than non toy haulers...heavier frame, bigger axles, more capacities, all this since they may be more likely to be drug down a trail to unleash the toys.
Anyway, just a thought,
My FIL had a Skyline with a similar floor plan to the Jayco 26bh...great camper for sitting and sleeping... Really good and comfy, there are a few compromises with this floor plan that are worth mentioning...not deal breakers...but something you may not think about just looking at the floor plans...
1) The bathroom is separate from the bathroom sink on most models...if the door opens out then there is opportunity to whack someone with the door. It's a when is it going to happen thing...not if.
2) some of the 'walls' separating the living area from the master bedroom is a whole wall, and some are a half wall with a curtain....neither is wrong and it just depends on your taste.
These two minor things is all I really have based on experience...
thanks and good luck!
Jeremiah
