I'm not sure he has any concerns. He certainly has less concerns with no slide than with one, one you can't argue against that. My opinion on slides differs from the OP's as well, but he's not me and I'm not him - get that? The only person to read this post in the future will obviously have been attracted to it because of the title and I suspect that this sane minded individual will be looking for advice on TT's without slides, not a bunch of posters trying to impose their opinion of what the correctly configured TT should be for anyone who dares ask or why the earth will stop rotating if he doesn't conform and agree with your opinion.
This is the exact reason new people are turned off to this site - it happens often. "We need to understand why he doesn't want a slide so we can help him" - what baloney.
Translation - you want something different, therefore you must not know what you want - you poor misguided idiot....
People are different - some have wants and desires different than yours. That should be all you need to understand.
