Stupid people doing stupid stuff, any GM or Ram could have done the same thing.
As far as length of chain, I would have used (not really as I'm not that stupid) a chain on the bus and than a 3" to 4" strap to the chain and truck. I was betting the bus was coming on over on the trucks bed also or at least the chain going through the back window.
