I went with the Ford because my local dealer is great, I like the product and have been more than happy with the product over the last 3 trucks I've had from them. I didn't mind the Ram I tried (Longhorn 3500 SRW 6.7), in fact it was quite nice and ticked all the right boxes but for my money I felt like the Ford drove nicer, was quieter and rode better on our rough roads. Dealer was also an unknown but they seemed OK.
This goes along with my thoughts on the 2003 and later HD Rams. The Ram, although the Cummins has always had the Cummins hum, rode, drove and absorbed vibrations better when it had the C channel chassis. The new hydroformed chassis Ram has a collection of vibration dampeners that the previous C channel chassis Rams didn't need.
My 2005 Ram is much smoother and rides way better than my vice presidents F250 does. Go figure.
