I think the “biggest” Allison that fits in a class 8 truck will have 7 speeds due to how the transmission functions. This to move loads like drilling rigs at 220,000lbs GCWR. They will have auxiliaries or shiftable planetary rear axles but these are not “shift on the fly” behind an Allison.
