Xm radio interference

Your TC over hang will definitely interfere, especially depending which direction you are traveling. I bought this magnetic antenna from Best Buy. When Im not using it I slap it on the underside of the hood and it stays put. When I load the camper, takes me less than a minute to unplug the factory antenna and plug in the auxillary antenna. Lift the hood, remove the antenna bug, and place it on the top of the hood.

We have the portable XM unit. I ran the antenna along the inside of the driver side engine compartment (up high) all the way to the front of the truck.. Tied it off with zip ties, a good clean install. Left enough of a pigtail so all I have to do is pop the hood, attach the antenna to the front of the hood, no camper overhang interference, then I can put it back under when not in use.

Keeps prying hands from removing it without my permission.

Absolutely. Had to move the XM antenna out onto the hood of the truck to get reliable reception. Same with the antenna for the GPS unit. Although the GPS worked after a fashion with the camper on the truck it was much more accurate once it had a strong signal.

I thought about mounting both antennas on the roof of the camper but decided the hassle of routing the leads down into the truck and then having to connect/disconnect each time I mounted or dismounted the camper wasn't worth it.

You can get a stick on antenna from them and put it on top. But this is why I'm letting the trial that came with my truck expire.
