Yearly inspection

We are required an annual safety State Inspection here in Virginia... Safety Lights and Brakes get inspected...

Then they put on a safety inspection sticker...

PA has a mandatory state safety inspection for trailers of 3,001 lbs and higher GVWR.

The inspection is concerning the OUTSIDE running gear such as tire condition, brake condition (and must have working emergency break away system), and all running lights and frame condition (don't want a rusted out frame!)..

Plumbing, inside electrical, holding tanks, refrigerator and such IS NOT "INSPECTED", those things do not pose a safety issue while driving and are left up to YOU to check and make sure they are in working order. Those are simple and easy for you to determine if they are working.

Pennsylvania has a safety inspection for brakes, lights and any other safety item.
The plumbing, house electrical, tanks, etc., are the owners decision.
Your preventative maintenance should take care those items.

HI: No safety inspection in Colorado. However, I think it would be a good idea as some folks just do not want to spend the time and money to keep brakes, lights and other safety item working well.

No legal requirement,, but a good inspection and checkout at least yearly is a good idea. Our first trip out each year is to a local campground, and that is one of the things that we do, Go over everything, look for leaks, and things the rattle, Check all electrical, check water and sewer connections and conditions. I also schedule at least one trip to the shop for major oil and filter change, and mu mechanic does a complete checkout o everything while it is in his shop.

Going on a trip without checking out all that stuff beforehand is one way to guarantee the trip is an adventure.

Yep, I would rather find and fix it before heading out for a trip.

Best to figure out how your systems like fridge, water heater, black, grey, fresh water tanks at home than finding out at a camp site..

If OP does not know what things are and how they work, they may wish to get some professional help now before they end up with the dreaded "pyramid" in the black tank..
