About to get the propane tanks filled, give it a bath--we will be ready for the start of hunting season! - noxinnhojExplorerfirst time cleaning the roof,i dont like heights, eesh, hoisted a bucket of murphys soap topside, plus the hose with a nozzle.Long story short,2 hours later I was done. The only problem was the openings on the lance ladder seem so narrow, lol.I hate heights, finally got down that ladder, that was the worst part of the whole day.Tomorrow its back up for some caulking touch up,getting the rolling rock ready for our monsoon season, eeks, and my 79 year old dad washes his roof on his 30 ft montana 5th wheel:)and a few kokanee,s to wind down...
- JoeChiOhkiExplorer IIDrove her from Oregon to Keystone, SD, so far :p. Been through Idaho, found the most Redneck built RV Park ever north of Ennaville after eating Rocky Mountain Oysters and Buffalo Burgers at the Snakepit, rode the Hiawatha Trail, had my headlight switch go out and lost my running lights, visited Glacier, drove the camper up to the top Logan Pass from the Lake St. Marie side, then drove on to Helena, MT, visited friends for a few days, then drove from there to Yellowstone, drove the grand loop and hit just about everything on it, then drove to Cody, stayed the night at the Cody Walmart, spent a bit of time visiting Cody, drove to Gillette, WY to sleep at their walmart before visiting Devil's Tower and The night lighting of Rushmore.
Now, I'm camped at the Travelodge Motel/Campground in Keystone, SD, cooking supper and getting ready for bed. - philclouseExplorerSanitized the fresh water tank and flushed out the holding tanks, after sitting for so many years! Deer season is fast approaching.
- RockyRoadCamperExplorerChecked water to both batteries of our truck camper. Inspected roof to see if I need to do any chalking, and may do a little tomorrow. Greased the front end of the F-450, eight jerk fittings, including the steering u-joints. None of the drive shafts or the carrier bearing have grease fittings? I don't know why. Bet it will cost $800 when it comes time to replace those u-joints. Double checked maintenance truck log for all filter changes, none due. Rear diff oil change and all filters except tranny, will be due soon after we return. Added Nature Conservancy and Greenpeace decals to the back of the t/c. Did a few other odds and ends. Have a good one.
- nwjetboatExplorerCost savings I am sure. IMHO the electronic lighter is much safer, generating multiple sparks per second compared to the one with the manual turn to light striker. I still have to hold in the oven knob to light the pilot lght, now I just have to hold down a button with it instead of sticking my arm and half my head in the oven.

Installed a piezoelectric igniter and got rid of the old turn to light noise maker. Bought the unit from Walmart for $13, add one $2.99 switch from radio shack and about 3hrs labor. Now I have quiet push button ignition for my stovetop burners and my oven. Before we had to get on our hands and knees, holding the oven knob in while applying flame to the pilot light.
Got the idea from here: Stove Igniter MOD
Wow thats a great mod-not much more than a decent butane lighter to reach the silly oven pilot. That ones on the list!
What is the reason they do not build any type igniter in the ovens? To keep you from blowing the doors off when there is a gas build up? - dakonthemountaiExplorer

I heard some clunking from the drivers side front of the truck on bumps. Lower bolt on the Rancho was a hair loose and let the shock eye hit the frame mount. I tightened that up right quick. Changed the oil and topped off the power steering fluid. I'm going to dump and flush the fresh water tank in a few minutes, have to remember to go get the propane tanks filled. We leave in 10 days for the USDF Region 7 Dressage Championships at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center. Staying at the Facility in the TC for a week.
You will be 5 minutes from our Burbank house! Maybe we can meet up for a meal or? Let me know when you are down here, and safe travels! :)
Dak - dodgerdogExplorerI got the camper bug and drove from Whittier to Red Bluff and turn around and came home the next day about a 12 hour drive... Now I need to figure out how to get everything all fixed up wiring ect... So the fun begins.....
Mike C. - AnEv942NomadReplaced our odd bathroom medicen cabinet. Actually bought one to put out side for my new outside servive sink. (It was mandated I was to NEVER again use kitchen sink for washing parts etc when SHE got her new kitchen sink) So picked up a cabinet for my boraxo, orange goop etc. When getting ready to hang occurred to me its a lot nicer and bigger cab than whats in camper. Its also square where the campers is a wedge shape, only an inch deep on one side. So I swapped them. new on the right

Worked out nice-the factory cab you had to lean over the toilet and sidways to see in mirror. Always thought bizzare the size and shape and how it was mounted, pain to use. New one I mounted at angle in corner-its a larger box and deeper- nice. Can actually stand over sink and see in mirror. Did add some shelf rails to it-(details on our home page
Installing the old one outside also worked well as its smaller and wedge shape allowed putting to side. - AnEv942NomadCouldnt say, we dont use the striker for the stove, use an extended reach flexible lighter to light burners (and oven), So this would be nice. We do and would have door open to light-no other way to verify pilot takes, even with electric start. The SST mirror would be good idea. No different than using lighter-still need to look in there to know its lit. Not sure what the assumption is. Still a manually lit pilot, just using an electric spark vs a lighter at arms length. If you look at refernced thread other folks have commented on this.
