A friend of mine did the first service on the truck, and installed the air-ride bags, in cab controller, and mounted the front hitch, as well. Spent about 4 days working on it. Mounted he compressor to the frame, and even built a water tight box around it, in case we hit deep water lol.
It's good to have talented friends.
After the air bags settle in place with a wek of driving, I'll put the camper in the bed and begin those modificatios: back porch, upgraded battery storage, and minor interior repairs.

June 1: Officially retired
June 2: enroute to Alaska, then parts unknown
Might see you in Alaska also as we are leaving around May 15th. Look for a Royal Red 350 CC King Ranch with a front rack and tool box (looks like the Beverly Hillbillies) with a NL 10 2.
Congrats on your retirement. Looks like you had some vacation time coming to you when you retired.
I have been reired from my main job since 2002 after 31.5 years and at the age of 53. But I didn't stop working till about 2 years ago from projects on another job. Really nice being retired for good now. - We might see you on the highway going to Alaska. We're headed up for three months (or so) this summer. Haven't been back since we retired and left in 2009.
My your retirement be full of adventures!seraphim wrote:

Sanded down Hapijak / rock chips / rust spots and re-painted.
Final--need to install new gutters.
Next weekend is the Ramerman family first Spring outing---may take boat! - garryk6ExplorerWell, Loaded up the Avion a week ago to move it due to 2 dump truck loads of logs delivered. Drove it all week. Saw a new camper at work, and we ended up parking near each other.

Avion looks a bit smaller than the Lance!
Garry in AK - portscannerExplorerGot it washed and 2/3rds of the camper re-caulked (before we ran out of caulk) and helped out a gentleman down on his luck.
I paid the husband of an co-worker who is out of work to do the caulking. Impressive work. Quality of work was near perfect. - rabconExplorer IIILoading it up to go to the Mid Alantic Truck Camper Ralley. :)
- dakonthemountaiExplorerI had a mobile RV service come out to get specs for replacing my crappy worn out rubber roof. He's giving me a number of options, including just recoating the roof, a metal one and if I remove all the vents, rack and ladder, drip rails, etc. I'll know Thursday what the costs are and what I will do. I decided to NOT do it all myself.
Dak - Ski_Pro_3ExplorerI added a motion/dusk light to the back of the camper so when I approach it after dark, it lights up the area. It has a solar panel too so I do not need to tie in to the batteries. Works great and I'll post photos tomorrow. I got it from Costco on sale for $29 for a single light, normally $89 for a 2-pack.
