4-Corners

In spite of it being privately owned and hence an admission fee is charged, it's worth it to stop.

Years back we stopped, but were late and they had closed the gate. We instead had a tailgate picnic there, took some pics, and left.

Last time we were there it was a cyclone fenced in spot in the middle of nowhere. Other than the marker showing the spot, for photos. It has nothing to offer. I think I heard that the Navajos are charging admission now but I don't know if that's true. If you have kids it maybe worth your time. On a scale of 10 I'd give it a 3 at best. Something like the giant ball of string roadside attraction.

Regardless we're planning on stopping there in mid April ourselves...

Not much to do there. When we lived in Colorado we like visiting Mesa Verde, so we went down to 4 corners a couple of times.

To burst your bubble, the private marking is not really 4 corners. It is somewhere else. I guess the surveys in the 1800's were not as accurate as today.

We enjoyed it. Everyone is right, there's a small fee to get in and there's not a whole lot in the surrounding area.

I wouldn't make a trip just to see it, but I would deviate from a route to go.

It's unique- where else can you be in 4 states at once? (Ignoring the fact that the marker may be slightly off position, the idea is there.)

We went and will likely stop again if we pass near by.

The four corners itself is not what you should spend your time at. There are many native american sites in this area that are far more interesting

It's kind of one of those things you should do once. Eat some fry bread, buy a trinket or two. Then you can check it off your experience list.

Doug, there are lots of "one and done" things in the world, but surely you don't mean fry bread is one of them?? Crispy fry bread with local wildflower honey drizzled on it -- yum! I look forward to it every time we go to that area of the Southwest.

30 years ago we stopped - don't recall any fences or paying anything - it's one of those "done it" things - don't budget much time staying there.
