- moishehExplorerSonora side roads are worse than they ever have been. There is a shortcut from Kino to Guaymas called Calle 4. For years I have been warning RV'rs to take the long way through HMO. Some did not heed my advice and lost a tire or 2. A local fisherman told me yesterday that he drove it in his rusty old suburban, The potholes are larger than your tires!! Do not expect conditions to improve. Sonora has a new Governor. She has inherited empty coffers. The former Government took all the money. This is normal. Thus no bucks to fix the roads.

The south road is almost impassable, took us 1.5 hours to go the 24 km.Far worse than last year.
Are you talking about the road from town out to the RV Park or the road from town back to Mex15? How many people were already there?
Thanks, rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
I am refering to the road that goes due east to 15D. I was literally driving into and out of potholes.
Ok, that is the road I thought you was referring to. At least you only have to drive the road once. This section of road has always been the weak link to & from El Mirador.
Thanks again, rocmoc n AZ/Mexico - TequilaExplorer

Their web site is down and e-mails get bounced back
Colin - rocmocExplorerI wondered if that was the case but I checked it multiply during normal work hours and it never changed. This is what led me to wonder if they were closed and also there was not another site saying otherwise.
South Road has not been good for the last 10 years. There are many places in other countries with the same problem. Just always have to be careful no matter where you are.
rocmoc n AZ/Mexico - TequilaExplorerThat comment references to hours of operation. BTW Karla told me they have not fixed the road out to the south yet. They are hopeful with the change in Government, but who knows. It's still a case of taking it at 20 - 30 kph. I am leading a caravan over it on Oct 18th, so I will post a report on its condition then. And hwy 15 south to Mazatlan in general
- rocmocExplorerHere ya go Tequila. BUT everyone else remember they are OPEN.
