Well I tried posting pic but I guess I don't know what I'm doing.
Compact car taking up two truck parking spots in rest area.

Pure BS. Those facilities are there for everyone. Get that "I'm a trucker and I'm entiled" chip off your shoulder.

Must be a lot of RVers taking up rest area truck spots since I see 18 wheelers parked all over exit ramps in the morning.

And of course truckers don't park in campgrounds, also don't see RV's go around the back side of truck stops and park in there either. Maybe they do but I never go in there, because it is for truckers. Unlike rest areas that are for everyone.

I guess the lack of common sense can also be applied to truckers. They have plenty of motels to park their truck and get a room for their down time. Just because their vehicle has sleeping accommodations, does not give them any more rights to a parking spot than other travelers whose vehicle has sleeping accommodations. Thankfully most truckers are decent folks and share the road and parking spots, but there are a few that taint the whole industry by claiming to be the KING of the road.

you have every right to use the roads and park where ever you like but common sense needs to be used (seems most lack it) truckers don't park in campgrounds if a trucker is involved in a accident the first thing out is he or she didn,t take a rest break or they were on drugs a sleepy driver is dangerous if they can.t find a place to park because a camper took the last space in a truck stop just think about it it could be you he hits 80.000 # is not easy to stop

That is the kind of attitude I dislike. Who the heck are you to tell me what I can, or can't afford??? Stopping to sleep a few hours at the rest area or truck stop while travelling has nothing to do with camping folks. If I want to pull out my chairs and grill I will do it at a campground.

I pay taxes just like everyone else, and truckers do not own the road anymore than the rest of us. Rest area signs says trucks and cars with trailers go this way. I will give truckers respect on the road but they do not dictate how or where I go.

So those high and mighty ones that think everyone should stop at RV sites for the night, go right ahead but don't judge me when I don't think the same way.

Thank you Star Gazer, you echoed the sentiments of many on this board. Having founded and owned a transportation company at one time, if ANY of my drivers had voiced a statement like the old trucker above, they would have been out of a job and had NO favorable recommendation from me when they applied for another.

What does this have to do with Florida Turnpike Rest Stops and how long you can park to rest? This thread is getting off-track, looking back the original question was answered.

Are you one of the otr truckers that try to make RV'ers feel un-welcome?

Many of the Flying J’s and Pilots I encounter are setup as truck stops and as businesses have changed the way they market, actually allowing, encouraging RV access, along with the transportation professionals.

I have worked in the transporation trucking industry, and many professional drivers are great people getting along with all, positively embracing changes, representing the industry in great ways, there are also some of the old negative stereo-types out there.
