Grants Pass to Gold Beach (OR)
MapQuest sends me south on 199 into California then back up 101 into Oregon. Is this an adequate route for my truck and 38ft 5th wheel?

- 199 to 101 is the best way.
- That's the route I would take. There is about 20 miles of 199 that you want to take it slow and not be in a hurry.
- Take you pick of that or 42 to the north. 42's a little straighter and lower.
Or if you are adventurous take the truck over the mountains on FS and BLM roads (but leave the trailer behind). Beware of Rogue River shuttles (with trailers) - they know those twisty roads well and take the curves fast.
